Celebrating No-Kill Status: 98% Save Rate!

Celebrating No-Kill Status at HSTV: A Community Victory with a 98% Save Rate!

We are beyond proud to announce that the Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley has officially maintained our No-Kill status for 2024, and it’s all thanks to you, our incredible village of supporters.

This recognition comes from Best Friends Animal Society, a national leader in animal welfare, and it highlights the tremendous impact we’ve made together. To be considered a No-Kill shelter, an organization must have a save rate of 90% or higher. In 2024, we didn’t just meet that threshold, we exceeded it with an outstanding 98% save rate! 🎉🐾

To put this in perspective, only about 2,500 shelters nationwide achieve No-Kill status each year. It’s an incredibly difficult goal, especially now, as shelters across the country are experiencing overwhelming intake numbers, staffing shortages, and ongoing funding challenges.

But here in the Tennessee Valley, our little shelter stood strong, and that’s because of you. Whether you’re a donor, volunteer, foster, adopter, or someone who simply believes in second chances for animals, you’ve played a critical role in this achievement.

Every tail wag, every gentle purr, and every successful adoption tells a story of compassion, resilience, and community. It is our mission, and our promise, to fight for every life that walks through our doors, and thanks to your continued support, we are able to keep that promise every single day.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us create a world where every animal gets the chance they deserve. Here’s to continuing the lifesaving work, together. ❤️🐶🐱
