KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – Cuddle up with this purr-making-machine.

June is National Adopt a Cat Month and the Humane Society of Tennessee Valley have many to choose from. April, is just one of almost 20 kittens they currently have up for adoption.

The Humane Society of Tennessee Valley says they are in kitten season. They have been getting an influx of inquires to hold more kittens than they have space for.

This Saturday, June 18 the PetSmart in Oak Ridge will have many kittens onsite that are up for adoption. Stop by from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. to fall in love with your next furry feline.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Meet our June Pet of the Month: Bagel!

Bagel is a three-year-old terrier mix who is at Humane Society, Tennessee Valley. Caretakers said Bagel is super sweet, but scared of the shelter, so they put her in a foster home for awhile.

Her foster family said she likes other dogs, playing with toys, and a comfy bed. They said she’s more comfortable with women, but is okay with men and children.

Caretakers said Bagel takes her time making friends and letting people see her vulnerable sweet side; once she comes to you she likes to be pet, but only after she trusts you.

“She doesn’t bark much and does enjoy chewing up the occasional shoe,” said Humane Society employees.

The Humane Society of Tennessee Valley stopped in with a special friend who is looking for their forever home.

Opera and her 7 other brothers and sisters are currently looking for their forever homes.

HSTV are finding ways to keep their animal food pantry full. The pantry serves as a way for anyone who might need a little extra help taking care of their animal.

On Saturday, May 28 head over to Food City on Bearden Hill. If you are unable to attend, they are currently accepting donations to be dropped off at their location off Kingston Pike.

The Humane Society of Tennessee Valley provides a great place for many animals to stay as they wait to become a permanent member of a good home.

Everlea and her sister are both up for adoption and can be described as “low maintenance.”

These kitties came out of the foster program as they were being nourished and taken care of through their earliest moments.

The Humane Society of Tennessee Valley stopped in with another pet of the week. Jasper is a couple months old and is now ready to take the world on by storm.

HSTV is approaching full capacity with many dogs and cats needing a good home to go to.

Currently, they are running low on items in their food pantry.

The pantry is a way for many pet owners, who are under difficult financial stressors, to still be able to feed their animals. Cera Smith, with the HSTV, says any food is greatly apricated and can be found at most grocery and pet stores. She says they are looking for the most generic brands such as Purina and Meow Mix.

The Humane Society of Tennessee Valley brought in eleven month old Sherman who is ready for his forever home.

He is the last puppy from his brothers and sisters, as well as being the last puppy up for adoption at the Humane Society. This little guy is a feisty one and truly lives up to the mischievous behavior a puppy has.

The Humane Society of Tennessee Valley is gearing up for their annual Paws for a Cause event. On Saturday, April 30 Caden Farms Dog Park will be hosting a fundraiser to benefit pets and the people who love them.

Only eleven weeks old, Shelby is full of personality, energy, and love.

The HSTV is gearing up for their annual event “Paws For a Cause” that will all go back to benefit the animals and their owners of East Tennessee. On Saturday, April 30 get ready to spend the day in Clinton at Carden Farms Dog Park where local vendors, food trucks, K9 demonstrations, and more will be taking place.
